Good and Bad Pitchers: Aug 2005 - Marc Lawrence
Sure, they may be oldies, but they're definitely goodies as
this month we salute Neil Diamond's HOT AUGUST NIGHTS album as
we enter the final two months of the 2005 MLB season.
With special thanks and assistance from baseball handicapping
colleague extraordinare Tom Freese (www.houseofsports.com), each
and every month this season we'll present the pitchers who have
performed above or below the norm in their GOOD MONTHS and BAD
MONTHS in games from 2002-2004.
Now, let's take a look at the GOOD MONTH and BAD MONTH pitchers
for AUGUST...
AUGUST GOOD:
Kelvim Escobar 8-3
Tim Hudson 15-2
Wade Miller 8-3
Kevin Millwood 8-3
Matt Morris 9-3
Mark Mulder 11-4
Tomo Ohka 9-3
Roy Oswalt 11-1
Carl Pavano 10-4
Jake Peavy 12-3
Johann Santana 13-4
Aaron Sele 10-4
Jeff Weaver 9-3
AUGUST BAD:
Mark Hendrickson 3-8
Brandon Webb 3-8
Kip Wells 4-10
Kerry Wood 5-11
Victor Zambrano 4-9
Remember to study the list over carefully before you make a
play. If a GOOD MONTH pitcher is in good form and off a loss,
you have a play. Conversely, if a BAD MONTH pitcher is in bad
form and off a win, you have a play. Stick to the game plan, and
by season's end you'll have a GOOD YEAR - that's a promise!
I'll return next month on this site with our GOOD MONTH / BAD
MONTH hurlers for September on out. Enjoy
